I did 8,760 push-ups and you should too!

In the last year I did 8,760 push-up and I believe you should too; not to lose weight (although I did) and not to get stronger (although I did that also), but because of the type of person it makes you to be someone who actually does push-ups every day!

Look, 8,760 push-up is only 24 push-ups a day.

I did NOT start at 24 each day! Nope.

It was more like 6 a day. Then after a while, I was doing 8 then 10 then 12. You get it.

I started that a long time ago and worked up to 24 each day. But, that meant when this year started, I hit the ground with 24 a day and when the year ended I had done those thousand and thousand of push-ups!

Start Small

In 2019, I started to hear the phrase “micro-habits” being thrown around. The Idea of some habit so small (tiny!) that you couldn’t fail!

One author suggest you start with the micro-habit of just 1 push up a day. (That is not a typo. One push-up a day is your goal.)

Naturally, most days you will get down and do more than one push-up. But even if you only do your one, you are developing the HABIT.

And habits change lives! In this case, YOUR life!

Start Today

Chose something. ANYTHING. No matter how small. And start today. Today.

Make Your Bed

William McRaven’s book Make Your Bed suggest simply making your bed each day is a one place to start.

I do.

I can’t explain why, but it works.

This is Why!

Okay, maybe I have some idea why starting a small habit works.

It’s because it make you the type of person who sets goals, establishes habits and sticks with them. And that makes a HUGE difference in your life over time.

Remember:

Small Actions + Consistency + Time = Remarkable Results.

Please do it.

Committed to your success,
Larry Kaye, P.I.
