How to use your voice for greater Command Authority.

There are three ways to talk that each make your voice sound different and one of them gives you the greatest command authority.

1. You can talk through your nose.

This make your voice sound, well… nasally. Not a very effective sound to instill confidence or encourage someone to comply with your command. Honestly, while it’s not fair to judge a person by his/her voice, people think this nasal voice sounds weak.

2. You can speak from your mouth.

Well, duh! But i’s more than that.

Allowing your voice to project from your mouth is the normal. Everyday conversation voice most of us use. It sounds okay, but not really “commanding”.

3. You can speak from your chest!

This makes you sound more confident and in-charge.

You don’t have to make your voice sound deeper or try to sound more menacing. When you project your voice from your chest you naturally sound like someone who should be followed. Go figure.

Try speaking from your chest when you answer the phone. You’ll see it makes a difference. And when you give instructions or commands as a security guard, loss prevention officer, bounty hunter, repo agent, cop or process server you’ll see the difference!
