How to Steal Trash Like a Pro: Tips from a Private Investigator

Today I discusses the practice of going through people’s trash as a private investigator, emphasizing valuable information can often be found, such as bank statements, receipts, and other leads that may assist in various cases, including skip tracing and child custody.

Why can we “steal” trash? Because in the U.S., trash left at the curb is considered abandoned property, making it legal to take, while trash behind a fence is off-limits.

I personally don’t take the recycling, because I believe it’s not abandoned but intended for collection by the city or a company.
