I generally charge the same rate to all of my clients, however… there are some exceptions.
For example, a human resources department that uses me regularly for pre-employment screening does get a discounted rate. This is because I get repeat business from these clients without having to spend marketing dollars to pick up this extra work plus, (and this is huge—>) I don’t have to re-educate the client on how it works hiring a P.I. or on what kind of results to expect!
So the company / client has requested a certain background check “package” from me. They understand they’re gong to get a background check that includes address history, SSN verification and criminal history including the disposition of any charges or crimes.
To me that’s worth a discount on a background check, not to mention I more than make it up on volume (IE. Repeat business)!
I do charge the exact same rate for surveillance including the three hour minimum that I charge for a domestic infidelity or “cheaters” case I pick up from a “one time” client concerned about a cheating husband or wife.
