You should to be able to change your appearance as needed and the trick is dressing in layers.
It’s way easier to peal off a layer of clothing that to awkwardly try to change your shirt!
I highly recommend you keep a hat on you because putting on taking off a hat can really change your appearance and throw off the subject you’re following.
Of course, only change your appearance when the subject can’t see you, like when they go around a corner and you haven’t yet.
