Have you ever wondered about how to get hired as a private investigator?
Getting a job as a private investigator is hard because detective agencies get a lot of calls and emails from applicants, but they only hire based on three things…
1. How much they can afford to pay you.
2. How much work they have (their case load).
3. The applicant him or herself and ESPECIALLY the experience of the applicant.
I hope this clears up some of the mystery behind getting hired as a P.I.

OSINT (Open Source Intelligence) covers a lot of territory, but the sweetest sub-set of information is Public Records and your big, restricted access, paid database provider can’t give you the vital information I share with you in this week’s private investigator training video!
This is a case study from a criminal defense case I worked where the prosecutor’s office played a dirty trick by disclosing their list of witnesses, but claiming to have no contact information on them! OUCH! Dirty Pool.
I skip traced the witnesses then, before conducting interviews, I dug a little deeper into public records to find the real dirt.
More than that… I learned EXACTLY who to talk to for the real skinny!
The beauty of it is, when you have the Public Records sources and methods I teach in my paid training, there are NO lies, NO pretext, NO restricted access databases. Heck, you can learn all the secrets even if you don’t have a Private Investigator’s License!

More jail records than you might realize are available public records, and this week I give real-world examples that any OSINT specialist, private investigator, or skip tracer should definitely be aware of!
Learn about “escape risk” prisoners, inmate transports, how to find the seemingly “boring” thing that can lead you to pure gold (in this example it’s about an email referenced in the Daily Report), and much, much more all in this week’s free private investigator training video!

Here is more private investigator surveillance video I captured and thought you might like to see as an example of what you can catch on camera when you understand how to do surveillance as a private investigator.
This is an example of what a private investigator can do!
WARNING
The warning in this free surveillance lesson is on the proper use of auto focus when conducting surveillance.
Auto focus can bite you when there’s:
1. low light
2. high contrasting light
3. dirty windows on your surveillance van
That’s why I like to use auto focus in the fist few moments to get a quick (pretty good) focus on the subject of my investigation, then switch to manual focus to get nice, crisp surveillance video for my client.
After you go through that streaming video training you’ll know you’ve got it all. No secrets are left out. I empty the bucket and share with you everything about surveillance. After that, you’re ready to go! So check out my Surveillance Course!
In the meantime, this is Larry Kaye reminding you to do the right thing, even if it’s the hard thing.

More and more private investigators are “riding the bus”, assuming the bus driver knows where they are going and how to get there!
These “bus riders” don’t know how to read a map or work GPS. They don’t know how to do real skip tracing!
This is a huge problem because…
1. It limits the cases they can take and solve.
2. If they get locked out by their restricted access, paid database provider (and it happens all the time!), then they’re stuck trying to explain to clients why they can’t help them. Sometimes after having that client for years! OUCH!
The Big Lesson
The big lesson today is to have a backup plan!
Know your sources and methods so well you can get by without your paid database provider at least long enough to get your account unfrozen!
