Some poor guy got public shamed on social media as Internet mob justice ruined his life when some amateur detectives thought he abducted a girl on a bike trail based on a geo-tagged photo, but the wanna’ be detectives failed to notice the date/time stamp!
Something like 55,000 re-tweets (literally!) jumped on the mob shaming – including posting this innocent man’s home address!
When it was DEFINITIVELY shown he was completely innocent, well… that only got something like 12 re-tweets. That is not a typo. Twelve re-tweets of his innocence.
Don’t be one of those turds who vomits online other people’s private information and/or accusations!
Show some professionalism. Whether you’re a professional or “amateur” P.I. – act like a pro!
If you absolutely think you have a missing piece of the puzzle that will help a criminal case, contact the police detective assigned to the case and share your tip with them!
Do the right thing, even if it’s the hard thing.
Committed to helping you do the right thing,
Larry Kaye, P.I.
